Preflight Procedure – First Officer
This procedure assumes the supplementary electrical power up procedure has been accomplished and electrical power is established.
Accomplish the following procedures in their entirety on each originating trip or
crew change, or following maintenance action.
Normally this procedure is accomplished by the First Officer. However, it does not
preclude the captain from completing the procedure if time and conditions dictate.

Fire extinguisher – Checked and stowed
Check trigger safety pin in place, handle safety wired, bottle pressure in green band.
Portable Oxygen Bottle – Checked and stowed Verify pressure in green band and face mask attached.
Crash axe – Stowed
First aid kit – Stowed
Verify first aid kit seal in place.
Smoke goggles – Stowed
Life vests – Stowed
Verify vests in place.
Hatch - Closed and locked
Smoke evacuation handle - In
Emergency escape devices– Stowed

GROUND TESTS switch........... NORM (guard closed)

Verify VALVE CLOSED lights extinguished.

SCAVENGE PUMP switch ................OFF (guard closed)

RESERVE 2 & 3 TRANSFER switch ............CLOSE (guard closed)

Verify ALTN lights extinguished.
IRS selectors ........OFF, then NAV

APU selector ........ START, release to ON

Main 2 aft pump PRESS light
extinguished when APU running.
Override 2 and 3 pumps, center pumps,
and stabilizer pumps PRESS lights.

INOP lights remain iluminated until first IRU aligns.
